I wrote Water Wonderland in the wee hours of the morning because I couldn’t sleep thinking about the injustices against the people in Flint – still no clean water after three years in a state full of water.

We, as people of the human race, have to think about what they are doing and saying to one another.  

God made diversity in everything He created.  Everything He made was good.  Why can’t we celebrate diversity and take care of God’s good earth and all of His people?  God has given us all we need and there is enough for everyone to live bountifully on this great earth. 

I wonder if there were only one race that God made, would we find a difference and exploit the least of these?

We allow darkness to take over our lives, make excuses and blame something or someone for our inadequacies.  We allow fear to take over and really think that the wrong we’ve done to others will come back to destroy us.  Thus, we feel we must control all and continue to lie, rob, kill and destroy anyone who does not look like us or share in our religion, way of life and culture. 

Another evil, greed, takes over and grabs us by the neck.  Enough is never enough!   We deny people the right to live and work on this earth for fear they might take something we need.  We jeopardize lives in order to make a few dollars, lie and in deceit, start wars and put our youth on the firing line just for the love of money and power.

It is a terrible human choice.  Are we that undisciplined to govern ourselves and live peaceably with others?

Either we live peaceably together or destroy one another and desecrate God’s gift to all – His good earth and each other.

I believe that God has given us all we need to live in love and peace.  If we would just trust Him that He will supply all of our needs, we would be all right. 

We can do this right, with the love of God in our hearts and minds.

Made for all of His people? No, you are not a people. You are not welcome in the land of your fathers. We don’t want to see you. To the reservation you go and that is where you will stay until we tell you otherwise. No good schools or job opportunities for you on the reservation. Stay intoxicated with firewater. Why? Why such hatred and injustice? Well, you see, you and your children, your homes, your way of life, your customs, your language, your being and all that you are is inferior to us. We are the right race, the Only God’s people.

Made for all of His people? No, you are not a people. You are not fully human. You say you are free and want to find work and a better life for yourself and your families. You want to flee from the lynching trees made for you in the south? Well, you can only work in our homes and take care of our children before your own. You can work in our factories and shine our shoes. Your pay is what we think you deserve and is not meant to provide a decent life for your family. No good jobs for you. No good housing for you. No good schools for you. We can lie and hunt you down – men, women, and children. We will arm our women and children to kick you, beat you, and gun you down in the streets. No charges will be filed. Black lives matter? Says who? Stay in your inner city plantation neighborhoods, where we will poison your minds with drugs, indoctrinate you and your children with lies about history, redline your neighborhoods, profile and give false charges to incarcerate you and your sons and daughters. You were brought to this land to make money for us and you will stay where we put you until we say otherwise. Why? Why such hatred and injustice? Well, you see, you and your children, your homes, your way of life, your customs, your language, your being and all that you are is inferior to us. We are the right race, the Only God’s people.

Made for all of His people? You non-white undocumented immigrants are only good for cheap labor. We pay you what we like. You can work for crumbs. No health care, decent housing or schools for you. You can’t even speak English. We will keep you under the radar to make money for big business and deny you citizenship even after years of hard work. We will control you with the fear of being deported so you won’t cause a rift. Why? Why such hatred and injustice? Well, you see, you and your children, your homes, your way of life, your customs, your language, your being and all that you are is inferior to us. We are the right race, the Only God’s people.

Made for all of His people? Wait. These inner cities are full of minorities and they are a problem. They can’t manage money. They can’t make decisions for themselves. They have no leadership skills. Take away their vote and put them under Emergency Managers. Control all their being- their city, their schools, and their neighborhoods. Make them pay for unsafe water – water that makes them and their children physically and mentally ill for years to come. Destroy their schools and then close what’s left of them. Build for-profit prisons instead. Ignore their pain and suffering and blame them. Why? Why such hatred and injustice? Well, you see, you and your children, your homes, your way of life, your customs, your language, your being and all that you are is inferior to us. We are the right race, the Only God’s people.

The question is: Who is the ‘right race’? Are white people the ‘right race’? Are black people the ‘right race’? Are brown people the ‘right race’? Are red people the ‘right race’? Are yellow people the ‘right race’?

Who is ‘right’ in God’s sight?

God made this great earth and everything in it for his glory, it’s people, it’s water, it’s land, and all to be taken care of and to be used by all.

NOW, Let’s turn this around!!!
